Hand-Punched Tin Sacred Heart Mirror – Silver & Red

£26.00

Hand-Punched Tin Sacred Heart Mirror – Valles Centrales, Oaxaca

H: 24cm x L: 13.5cm

Handcrafted by Maricela in the Valles Centrales region of Oaxaca, this Sagrado Corazón is made entirely from tin sheet metal, shaped and soldered by hand. Maricela has worked with tin for 30 years, a craft passed down through her family.

Each piece takes around four days to complete across nine steps: punching and shaping the metal, decorating the surface, then soldering the pieces together. The crowned flame at the top and the beaded red border around the mirror are all worked by hand, giving the tin its fine, textured detail.

The Sacred Heart is a familiar sight in Mexican homes, often hung near the entrance or above a table as a small, everyday marker of faith and family. Hang it on a wall or prop it on a shelf, the mirrored centre catching the light wherever it sits.

Please note: As every piece is handmade, small variations in shape and finish are part of its character.
