Handcrafted by Silverio in Ahuehuepan, in the Alto Balsas Náhuatl region of Guerrero, this mask continues a craft his family has kept for more than 30 years, shaped by hand from coconut shell.

Each mask takes a day and a half to complete and comes purely from the artisan's own imagination, there's no template behind it. Everything is hand-painted and hand-shaped.

A characterful piece for the wall, striking on its own or paired with the black version.

Material: Coconut shell, clay, whiting paste (blanco de España), glue, oil paint

Technique: Hand-moulded

Learned through: No formal training, the designs come from the artisans' own imagination rather than a set pattern. Silverio has been making masks for more than 30 years
