Perfect for mezcal, tequila or espresso, these shot glasses come as a pair.

Made by Lissandy, the Familia Pérez's collective in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, using the region's iconic Barro Negro (black clay), sourced from a mine in their own community. The workshop is now in its third generation, with pieces shaped by different family members, Andrea, Lisset, Eva and Armando. Each cup takes up to 7 days to create, across around twelve stages of carving and hand-burnishing with quartz.

Please note that as each piece is handmade, slight variations may occur, making every item beautifully unique. Our Barro Negro is Lead free.

  • Natural pigments may leave a slight residue when touched, this is normal and not harmful. Hand wash only and let it fully dry before next use. Barro Negro is fired at low temperatures, so it's not suitable for microwave or dishwasher.

Maker: Andrea, Lisset, Eva & Armando (Familia Pérez)

Years practising: Family workshop, third generation

Origin: Valles Centrales, Oaxaca

Material: Barro Negro (Black clay), mined locally

Technique: Traditionally made without a potter’s wheel, hand-shaped, burnishing before firing, carved & pierced decoration and stone-polished.

Time to make: Each piece can take up to 7 days
